Chapter 59 - Confirming her feelings

Ji YunChuan and Nie AnAn didn’t return to their respective inns till 5 PM. After dinner, the sky was already completely dark. It was still very lively, however, inside the inns.

Nie AnAn was pretty tired today, so she went straight to shower after she had returned to her room.

She had spent a lot of time sorting out her emotions today, and she felt that she could confirm it again when she was around Huo YanXiao.

Many things couldn’t be figured out just by thinking it over. But if she could see him in person, the answer might just reveal itself to her.

After showering, she blow-dried her hair and put on a white dress. She undid her ponytail so she didn’t look as young before she stepped outside.

Over at Yun Lai, the guests were sitting around chitchatting in the lobby. As soon as they saw Nie AnAn, she didn’t even need to ask before they told her, “AnAn, your brother is upstairs.”

Nie AnAn nodded and pitter-pattered upstairs.

Huo YanXiao was taking care of some work emails in his room. When he heard the knocking on the door, he merely responded with a nonchalant, “C’mon in.”

Nie AnAn pushed open the door and saw a man in casual clothes, sitting in front of a wooden table and typing away on his laptop.

“Big brother,” she said as she walked inside.

Huo YanXiao typed one more sentence, then he clicked “Send” before he turned to look at her.

The light inside the inn’s room was a warm orange color. It radiated through a rhombus shaped lamp shade, slicing the lights and shadows in the room into multiple irregular shapes.

The man sat inside the middle of the lights and shadows and looked at her profoundly. His brows and eyes were sharp and deep, as though it has not a shred of unnecessary emotions.

Nie AnAn felt that everything that she had prepared to say was forgotten all of a sudden.

As she stood at the same spot, a breeze blew past her dress, and she seemed so small.

It was only that her hair was falling down the side of her face, covering up half of it. It made her limpid eyes seem even brighter than usual.

It was quiet inside the room. Finally, Nie AnAn twisted her fingers together quickly, bounced in front of Huo YanXiao, and smiled at him.

Huo YanXiao hadn’t expected Nie AnAn to suddenly run toward him and smile at him. That very moment, he felt something tugging at his heart.

Nie AnAn looked at the man next to her and felt that she now had the answer to the question that she had spent the entire day mulling over.

“Big brother, did you have enough to eat over dinner? Would you like me to make you some extra food?” Nie AnAn asked him as she leaned over his table.

Huo YanXiao recalled the short clip that he had watched earlier. He looked back at his computer screen and said, “No, I don’t need any more food.”

“Are you busy right now, big brother?” asked Nie AnAn again. “Am I interrupting you?”

“Mm,” replied Huo YanXiao.

Nie AnAn pouted a little. She felt that her big brother was a little cold today.

“Okay, I am going to head out then.” She lifted her foot. With cat-like movements, she pretended that she was about to walk out.

At the wooden table, Huo YanXiao saw Nie AnAn out of the corner of his eyes and a look of resignation appeared on him.

Right when Nie AnAn had reached the door and looked as though she was about to disappear, she suddenly ran back toward him.

Then, she grabbed him by his arm and leaned into him –
