Chapter 45 - Big Brother Can Teach Me (1)
The rain had already stopped by the time Nie AnAn woke up the next day. All the grass around the mansion had absorbed enough water that they looked bright and gorgeous.
Nie AnAn couldn’t remember how she got back to her own room and own bed; the last thing that she could remember was Huo YanXiao asking her to stay and keep him company.
That was the first time she saw frailty on him.
Her heart hurt a little. Before she even had the time to comb her hair, she put on her slippers and pitter-pattered toward Huo YanXiao’s room.
The door was half opened and Huo YanXiao was already awake. Nie AnAn knocked on the door and said, “Big brother.”
Huo YanXiao had opened up the window. Right at that moment, a breeze opened up the door and instantly mixed the shadow of the man changing in the room with the sunlight pouring in through the window.
He was standing next to the closet. He had just put on a black button-down shirt but had yet to button it up. He turned when he heard the noise.
Immediately, the beautiful and firm contours of his muscle and his strong waist fell into Nie AnAn’s vision.
He was standing in the light; his body half bright and half dark. The folds of his dark shirt brought up his cold and profound qualities, yet the exposed chest exuded a taboo type of temptation.
Nie AnAn felt that her heart was going to beat out of her chest all of a sudden. Her ears burned, and she regretted her rash action.
“Big brother, I come to see if you are still having a headache,” explained Nie AnAn as she looked down and dared not look anymore. Her body rocked from side to side lightly, like a little squirrel waving it’s large, fluffy tail.
“Not anymore,” said Huo YanXiao as he button himself up while walking toward Nie AnAn. Looking at her messy hair, he suddenly felt that she looked very cute. He couldn’t help but reach out his hand to rub her on her head, as though to check and see if he could find her fluffy, bunny ears.
“Thank you for everything last night, AnAn,” he said to her.
The hand on her head was broad and warm. Nie AnAn felt the emotion of elders toward little kids. She looked up. Sure enough, that’s the kind of emotions that she spotted in Huo YanXiao’s eyes.
She felt a little vexed: he really looked at her as though she was still a child.
“No worries, big brother.” Nie AnAn smiled at him and her sight fell on the second button on his chest. That one was still unbuttoned and she could see half of his delicate collar bone.
An idea flashed into her mind, and she couldn’t shake it off.
But she didn’t say anything. Instead, she said she needed to start getting ready and ran away.
As Huo YanXiao had agreed to go on “Gold Medal Inn” the following season, naturally Nie AnAn did as well. And the filming of that would begin the upcoming Monday.
In the next few days, Nie AnAn registered an account online. She didn’t need to be on there herself, but just posted some of Huo YanXiao’s daily activities along with some nutritional information.
Huo YanXiao’s company needed its image improved. What she did was try to improve both of their reputations online. Granted, it’d be an added bonus if that was effective.

It rained a little again on Saturday so the plan to go to the zoo was cancelled and the brother and sister duo were resting at home.
Huo YanXiao closed the blinds, turned on the projector, and put on a Disney animation for Nie AnAn.
Nie AnAn turned and looked at the man sitting next to her. He was sitting there sluggishly with his eyes lingering on the screen like a father keeping his daughter company while she watched a movie.
“Big brother, do you think we should watch an adult movie instead?” Having said that, Nie AnAn noticed that her word choice might be a little misleading.
Yet Huo YanXiao didn’t think she’d make that association at all. He just asked curiously, “AnAn doesn’t like animations?”
Nie AnAn looked at the man in front of her and said most seriously, “Big brother, I am 20 years old. I can legally get married.”
Her look was very sincere. Yet as sincere as she was, her voice sounded like it was wrapped in a layer of jello and she looked like an obedient pet kitty.
Her words made Huo YanXiao chuckle. He rubbed her on her head and the message in his eyes were clear: Alright, alright. AnAn is all grown up. No kids like to be called kids.
