Chapter 17 - Happy Drama-Watching Life (2)

After she sent the cat away, it was already noon when Ye Qing returned home.

Ye Qing pulled the lunch box out from the refrigerator and heated it up in the microwave. It wasn’t as good as fresh, but it still wasn’t bad.

After lunch, she lay back down in her yard and finished watching the historical drama as she basked in the sun.

She was going to finish it last night before she went to sleep, but the little kitty was too clingy. She also failed to resist the temptation and ended up spending half the night playing with the kitty before going to bed.

Now that the cat was gone, the house had returned to its usual peacefulness. She could do whatever she wanted without being interrupted by the cat. Freedom!

She didn’t feel like she had enough after 8 episodes of the historical drama.

But the show only had a total of 8 episodes; there was not much she could do about it. As she was searching for the next show, the doorbell rang.

Judging by the time, this must be the Big Aunt bringing her dinner!

Plus, the way her Big Aunt looked like she had something she wanted to say but stopped herself did not escape Ye Qing.

She felt another drama about to unfold in front of her, and she was quite expectant, so she got up immediately and opened the door.

Sure enough. It was her Big Aunt.

Not just Big Aunt, Second Aunt came as well and with a few bags of fruits in her hand!

Grapes, honeydew, oranges!

All the fruits that she loved, awesome!

Ye Qing pretended that she didn’t notice her Big Aunt’s darkened face and warmly invited her two aunties inside.

Big Aunt gave Second Aunt a look and said, “I thought we’ve agreed that I will take care of dinner and you lunch. Why are you here now?”

The only reason she didn’t say anything last night was because she didn’t want to say it in front of Second Aunt so she could benefit from that!

Second Aunt covered her mouth and smiled. “My husband bought some fruits today, so I thought I’d bring some over for Ah Qing. Fruits are very good for one’s health!”

Ye Qing knew what’s good for her. She took the fruits from Second Aunt and said, “Thank you, Second Aunt. And please thank Second Uncle for me as well.”

Big Aunt rolled her eyes and handed over her lunchbox.

She couldn’t wait any longer on her son’s matters. If she waited any longer, he’d be rushing her again.

She thought about it for a little bit and felt that her son’s qualifications were higher than Second Aunt’s daughter, so most likely she wouldn’t be able to take advantage of her proposal. She tried her best to ignore Second Aunt, found a spot to sit down, and squeezed out the best smile that she could muster. “Oh, Ah Qing. I really didn’t want to bother you with this, but Big Aunt had never been to school nor lived in a big city. I really have no other choice!”

Ye Qing blinked and sat down from a safe distance from her. With a very caring look, she asked, “What’s the matter? Do tell. Don’t worry, I will do anything within my ability to help. We are a family!”

Big Aunt was very pleased with Ye Qing’s reaction, and her smile thickened, “You are such a good child.”

After she had praised her, she sighed and started, “Aye, this is about your little cousin again. Didn’t I mention last night that he had quit his job? He has been job hunting lately, and had received a few offers!” Having said that, she had a proud look on her face.

“Ah Qing, you may not know this. Your cousin did really well in school and graduated from a prominent college. His ability is top notched. He had no problem getting a new job, but you know all these companies now? They are so stuck up. They said my son has only graduated college and has no experience, so they would only pay him a few thousand dollars plus he will need to work overtime. That’s so ridiculous! Even if your cousin is okay with that, I am not!”

Ye Qing looked to be very focused on what she was saying and didn’t comment on it.
