Title: The CEO's Cute and Delicate Daughter
Translator: Fringe Capybara
Chapter 1
Island Nan is located in the southern part of the bay. It has amazing air quality and the blue sky, white cloud, and blueish-green ocean gave it a picturesque feel, making it one of the top 10 best vacationing areas in the country.
Lu QingXin currently worked at the Fate of Dreams Hotel. Pregnant with her twins, she had travelled across almost half of the country to Island Nan on a rainy night five years ago to seek help from a good friend. A few months later, her twins arrived in this beautiful city by the sea and she had settled down here since.
It wasn’t even 6 AM yet, and Lu QingXin was already up and preparing breakfast. She was just about to find time in between her busy schedule to wake up her 4-year-old son when she noticed that the little kiddo was already up and ready. The little boy had on a little suit with a little bow tie and looked very elegant and gentlemanly.
Lu QingXin’s heart almost skipped a beat. He looked so… so much like that person…
The toaster chimed in the kitchen and Lu QingXin immediately left her son and dashed back into the kitchen. She was almost knocked over by a chair in the dining room. She placed the toast on a plate along with a fried egg and a cup of hot milk – it was a breakfast for a champion, if you ignored the fact that the toast was a bit too hard and the edges of the egg was a bit burned.
Lu Hao, as the older of the two children, acted like a little adult. He sighed and said meaningfully to his mother, “Mom, I am leaving soon. You shouldn’t make breakfast anymore. Either bring little sister with you to Aunty Gu’s place for breakfast or just buy them from outside.” Looking at the bizarre-looking blackened egg and toast sitting on the ceramic plate, he truly worried that they’d give his little sister a stomachache.
Today was the day that Lu Hao was going to go with his music teacher to Austria for his schooling. He might be gone for a long time. As the only man in the house, he was very worried. His mother was a big scatterbrain who couldn’t even cook breakfast and his little sister was a little scatterbrain and delicate to top. Occasionally, she also has a little bit of a temper. What was she going to do without him there taking care of her day in and day out?
Oh, how he worried.
Lu QingXin smiled with a little embarrassment. She subtly started shuffling to one side and said, “I am going to wake MengMeng. Why is she always oversleeping? She is going to be late soon.”
Lu Hao said with the most serious look, “Don’t take her to the wrong kindergarten again like you did before. I will be calling her kindergarten teachers on a regular basis to see how she’s doing in school. And you be careful at work and stop bumping into things and hurting yourself. Work hard and take care of your own health…”
As her 4-year-old continued on about what she needed to be aware of, all Lu QingXin could think of was, “……” Hey, now? Am I your mother here or are you our father???
The three of them lived in a not-very-big-but-very-complete apartment. The twins, Lu Hao and Lu MengMeng, lived in the little attic. The little attic wasn’t too small and there was a little bay window in the middle that one could see the ocean from it. Lu QingXin placed two little desks in front of the window for the two of them. On the other side of the room, there were their little beds, separated by a pretty curtain. Those were their own private spaces. Lu QingXin was a very liberal mother and told them they could decorate their own areas however they wanted.
Lu Hao preferred simple black and white decorations and, contrarily, Lu MengMeng preferred pastel colors – pastel pink, pastel blue, pastel green – making her side looked like gingerbread houses resided by princesses in storybooks. There was nothing wrong with their room other than it being a little bit small.
Lu MengMeng was still rolling around under the blanket in her pink little bed, showing only her pink and chubby little face, a big nose and a tiny mouth. Her eyes were still closed and her eyelashes were long and curly, making her look even more adorable.
Compared to being nervous every time she saw her older son’s serious face, Lu QingXin’s heart melted every time she saw her little daughter. She was to her like a pretty and tasty piece of candy; she worried that it’d melt if she put it in her mouth, or that she’d drop it if she carried it in her hand. She loved both of her children very much. She was very glad that she kept them out of a moment of weakness. They were worth all the hardships that followed.
