Title: The Villainess Female Supporting Character Raising Her Bun
Translator: Fringe Capybara
Chapter 34 - Starting School (1)
Cheng Huan’s business was picking up more and more as each day went by.
With her food tasting good, she had gained a lot of returning customers. That on top of the words passed around by the customers caused her booth to become the most popular one at the night market in merely two weeks’ time.
Most of the stalls at the night market were barbeque stalls. Many of them weren’t all that happy watching the newcomer becoming more and more popular. Yet there was not much they could do. Taste mattered the most when it came to food. The customers wanted to go back after they tried Cheng Huan’s food once. As much as the other vendors were disgruntled, there wasn't much they could do.
They couldn’t very well just smash her stall.
There was something special about today.
Zheng Zhi propped up the awning, arranged his ingredients, squatted, and smoked out front.
It was bustling everywhere he looked. Delicious smell of marinated pork feet came from the stall across from him. Zheng Zhi, puffing his cigarette between two fingers, turned his head and looked over to his right.
The stall to his right was still empty. When that woman started two weeks ago, Zheng Zhi didn’t pay her much attention, but he couldn’t be more wrong. As each day had gone by, her business got better and better and took almost all of his customers!
Thinking about his new record low income yesterday, Zheng Zhi felt a little irritated. He didn’t understand why all the customers went over to have barbeque. He didn’t think that food was all that good!
He tossed his cigarette on the ground, spit on the ground, and rubbed it out with his shoe. The dark green phlegm smeared over a large area on the ground. Zheng Zhi looked up and saw a young man standing in front of them, looking left and right.
The man was in his twenties, slightly taller than himself and not too bad looking.
Zheng Zhi snickered to himself; little pretty boy. The young man turned toward him with a bright smile and asked, “Pardon me, Sir, do you know when this barbeque booth opens up?”
Great! Another blind one!
Zheng Zhi felt that anyone who enjoyed that place was blind. And now this blind guy even came up to him and asked about it? Zheng Zhi cussed him out inside. His tone was impatient as he said, “She isn’t opening. She's gone out of business!”
“Oh?” The young man, holding a selfie stick, was a bit dumbfounded.
His name is Chen Nian and he was an internet food influencer. He loved looking for good tasting food everywhere usually. As he was honest about what he said and not just advertising for money, his fans had a lot of faith in him. Places that he had mentioned would have fans travel a long distance to try.
Chen Nian truly enjoyed tasty food. And foodies’ friends were usually foodies as well. A friend of his posted a picture of some barbeque skewers a couple of days ago and said how he had come across this place inadvertently and that it was the best barbeque he has had in years.
Chen Nian has faith in his friend’s words, which was why he asked him for its address. He only came two days late because he needed to film a soup dumpling place first.
And she was out of business already? Chen Nian wanted to cry. He confirmed with Zheng Zhi one more time.
“I just told you. She went out of business. Her food was so bad, so of course she went out of business.”
What he was saying was the exact opposite of what his friend had said. Chen Nian paused a little and finally figured out that what the guy was telling him was probably a lie.
“Oh,” he said, looking somewhat disappointed. He politely declined the stall owner’s invitation to try out his booth and walked away.
