Chapter 11 - Does The Kid Look Like You When You Were Young? (2)
Breakfast was millet porridge and mushroom buns. All the ingredients were bought in the morning.
The millet porridge was cooked till it was thick and gooey with aroma coming straight from it. The flour that was used to make the buns had vegetable juice added to it, making the buns very colorful. The mushroom and ground meat inside had been fried first, and juices would flow out when one bit into it and the aroma would fill one’s mouth.
With XingXing’s appetite in mind, the buns were small in size. About two bites per bun.
The little kiddo loved the buns a lot and two were enough for him. Cheng Huan estimated his appetite and didn’t give him more after that. The little kiddo did not pursue it.
He jumped down onto the floor, smacked his belly, leaned up against Cheng Huan, and drooled as he looked at the leftover food on the table.
“Mom, buns are so yummy.”
“Of course they are.” Cheng Huan wasn’t humble at all. She was very confident of her own cooking.
The little kiddo felt that buns had replaced noodles as the yummiest food on earth. Leaning against Cheng Huan, he asked with anticipation, “Are we going to have buns again for lunch?”
“No, we are not having buns for lunch. We will have something else.” Cheng Huan finished the last bit of food left and started cleaning up.
The little kiddo followed her from the living room into the kitchen like a little tail. As Cheng Huan was doing dishes, he asked, standing next to her, “Why not?”
“Because we had buns for breakfast. We will have lunch during noon time.” Cheng Huan dried the bowls and washed her hands before she turned around and pinched the little kiddo on his cheek. “Plus, we may eat out during lunch. We need to go buy you some clothes.”
“For me?”
“Yes. We will buy lots of pretty clothes for XingXing.”
Kids might not necessarily enjoy clothes shopping, but they certainly enjoy leaving the house. XingXing was not picky; he enjoyed both activities.
Hearing the news, he jumped up in joy. “Yay, Mom!”
Cheng Huan went to put some makeup on while the little kiddo was excited.
The original owner might be bad for her child, but she was very good for herself. She was well aware that her look was her capital and has been very nice to herself. At age 24, she looked to be about 18~19. Her son looked like her brother when they went out together.
The place that they lived in might be subpar, but the area was decent. They lived right next to the subway station, and it was only two stations away from the commercial district.
Cheng Huan did her homework for the surrounding area before they left their apartment so she’d have a basic idea. She took XingXing to a newly completed shopping mall. The kids’ section was on the third floor. As most of the stores were still in their grand opening period, a lot of them had sales.
The little kiddo hadn’t been going out a lot and had been excited the entire time. With one hand in Cheng Huan’s, he looked around nonstop.
Not too far away, a young man saw the front of XingXing. With a “huh?”, he turned to the man next to him and said, “MingYuan, do you think that kid looked like you when you were little?”
