Chapter 21 - She wished that she would not run into them ever again (3)
Shu Bai frowned deeply. “But my agent said I must give this to him. This cigarette was very expensive.”
Suddenly, she seemed to have thought of something, “Class sister, are you done with your audition already?”
“Mhmm.” Chi Ying nodded.
The door to the audition room was already locked.
“Director Gu has left already.”
Shu Bai let out a very regretful “Oh” and said, “I guess I will just have to leave….”
They walked a little bit of a distance, and neither one of them talked.
The door to the stairwell was opened on one side of them.
Chi Ying quickly pulled Shu Bai with her behind the door. Their backs were against the wall and she said, “Shh.”
Through the crack of the door, they seemed to be able to see Gu YuanChen standing there. He was leaning against the stairs and his legs were slightly bent. He seemed to be pondering over something and there was smoke coming from the cigarette in his hand.
Gu YuanChen was a cold person and not easy to get along with.
Quickly, a pretty little actress appeared in the stairway. She had on bright makeup and her collar was open low.
The pretty little actress walked over to Gu YuanChen with her back straight and called out to him in a soft and charming voice, “Director Gu.”
Her pushed up cleavage was so eye-catching that even Chi Ying could see it clearly from a distance away.
Chi Ying remembered her. She was one of the girls at the audition, but she didn’t get there till very late. She thought she might even have been late for the audition.
The very next second, the little actress threw open her arms and wrapped them around Gu YuanChen’s neck in the most natural way while she tried to plant her lips on him.
Shu Bai said, “Oh!! It’s her..” She turned away, her cheek flustered.
Chi Ying gestured for her to remain silent.
Gu YuanChen quickly pushed the little actress away. Frowning deeply, he said to her, “You don’t need to come to any of my auditions anymore in the future.”
The little actress turned pale for a brief moment but quickly recovered.
She left through the stairs. Her head still held high and her back straight.
Pride was a must have in this field.
Shu Bai was embarrassed. “Thank, thank you, Class Sister. That almost would have been me…”
“You know that girl?”
“She was also in our department but a different class. I don’t know her very well…”
Chi Ying was not a talkative person, so Shu Bai couldn’t say much either. She went quiet.
The two of them took the elevator down quietly and were on the ground floor before long.
The assistant was waiting at the elevator lobby. She immediately walked up and asked, “Well, BaiBai, were you able to give it to him?”
Shu Bai lowered her eyes and said, “No.”
The assistant was not happy. A hint of annoyance could be detected between her brows, even.
Shu Bai lied, “When I got up there, the audition was already over and Director Gu had already left…”
The assistant wasn’t going to let her off the hook easily, “Then why were you up there for so long?”
Remembering what she had just witnessed, Shu Bai couldn’t form any words.
The assistant’s brows furrowed some more. “Just hide these cigarettes or throw them away. We will tell Liu-jie that we have gifted them.”
Chi Ying listened to the conversation between Shu Bai and her assistant quietly. The front entrance of the building was right in front of her. Once she stepped out of it, she’d be going a different direction as them.
The entertainment circle was neither too big nor too small. If it's up to Chi Ying, however, she wished that she would not run into them ever again.
She politely said goodbye to Shu Bai.
Before she even started walking, she saw a black Bentley drive over slowly and finally stopping in front of the building.
Three middle-aged men in full suits quickly got out of the car, walked over to the back seat, and opened the door. Another man exited the car. Lu JingYan leaned out. His eyes were cold and his lips were closed tightly into a line.
The bystanders, after talking about that for a few seconds, finally all went silent from the man’s forceful aura.
The air seemed to have frozen and the girls who were secretly trying to take pictures almost forgot to hit their buttons.
But nobody was able to look away.
Lu JingYan stepped out his long legs. The three men followed behind him. He walked in Chi Ying’s direction.
