Title: The Villain’s Mother
Translator: Fuyu
Chapter 47 - She would be an idiot to ruin their harmonious plastic relationship for an insignificant person (1)
Ruan Xia returned to her room. Little Wang had already fallen into sleep a while ago. She helpfully adjusted the small blanket to cover him better and lay down next to him to sleep.
Even though he was already three years old, he still drank milk, so there was a milky scent in the room.
She had dated a few times before transmigrating here, and nothing came of those dates. Since she had only dated ordinary people, this was the first time that Ruan Xia encountered a woman like Li Jing, who wanted to stir up trouble in her relationship.
From Ruan Xia's perspective, Song Tingshen was a romance novel's template male lead. He had money, looks, and ability. A man like him was sure to have plenty of admirers. And so, after a brief surprise, Ruan Xia could calmly accept encountering this type of thing.
She guessed that Li Jing either wanted her to simply misunderstand her relationship with Song Tingshen, or Li Jing had acted rashly because she was impatient about replacing her as Mrs. Song.
Either way, Ruan Xia had no plans on responding to Li Jing's provocation.
Whether Li Jing was Song Tingshen's mistress or simply an admirer, it didn't matter to her. Song Tingshen currently didn't have any intention of divorcing her, and she didn't want to destroy their balanced relationship. Moreover, they had a child. The original owner and Song Tingshen had a relationship where they both minded their own business. Even if it was the original owner that had answered the phone, she would remain indifferent too.
Ruan Xia hadn't taken on the role of being Song Tingshen's substitute wife yet. Of course, since she and Song Tingshen had a plastic relationship, it was difficult for her to want to take on that role. She wasn't romantically interested in Song Tingshen, and she didn't see him as her husband. At the very best, it was a relationship of necessity. So, why should she bother asking Song Tingshen about this call and cause both of them to be unhappy?
Based on Song Tingshen's personality, she was sure that he wouldn't be happy if she told him about the call. But, when she thought about it carefully, she would be an idiot to ruin their harmonious plastic relationship for an insignificant person.
Let's just pretend that she didn't know anything. She would treat it as if she had never answered the call. If Song Tingshen woke up tomorrow morning, looked at his call log, and asked her about it, she would be discreet and let it go.
With this idea in mind, Ruan Xia quickly fell asleep.
---
On the other side, Li Jing couldn't fall asleep. She was tightly holding her phone and feeling so so very apprehensive, even she didn't know why she had made that call.
It was probably because she had drunk too much and also because she had been burdened by her emotions for so long and had to keep them hidden. Once she had seen Song Tingshen getting drunk, she couldn't control herself any longer.
Ruan Xia had guessed correctly. Li Jing had made the call for the purpose of speaking to her, not Song Tingshen.
Li Jing looked at the night sky. She wasn't sure what she was expecting. Was she expecting that this married couple would have an argument because of her? Or, was she hoping that Mrs. Song would misunderstand her relationship with Mr. Song?
If Song Tingshen was happy and had a good relationship with his wife, then she wouldn't have done anything. She would put herself in the correct place. But, reality and fact had told her that Song Tingshen wasn't living a good life. He wasn't happy. So then, could she make an attempt to try her best for the sake of the crush that she had been harboring for such a long time?
Translator Ramblings: I wonder if Song Tingshen said anything to Li Jing while he was drunk, or if this is just Li Jing's delusion? I think Song Tingshen is simply indifferent about his relationship with Ruan Xia.
