Chapter 283 - Do you really think I'm blind? (1)
The three of them quickly went up to the second floor and searched one private room after another.
Many of the private rooms were filled with people having fun. The partygoers were scared half to death when Captain Zheng suddenly came into their rooms. There was no sign of Zheng Mo.
They walked to the end and entered the largest and most luxurious private room. It was utterly empty.
Captain Zheng saw that no one was inside and planned to leave.
Bei Nuan called out to him, "Wait."
Inside the room, next to the bed, there was a large overturned metal cage with the door wide open. A key was thrown haphazardly on the floor next to it.
Bei Nuan thought that it looked very much like someone had been locked in the cage, somehow tipped it over, reached the key next to it, opened the door, and ran away.
If it was a zombie locked up inside, zombies didn't have this kind of IQ.
Even if the key was handed to them, they wouldn't be able to unlock the door.
However, Bei Nuan had a vague feeling that Zheng Mo wasn't the same as other zombies.
In the afternoon, when those zombies escaped and were running around the base, the soldiers said that it seemed like someone had opened the cage doors.
Bei Nuan deeply suspected that it might have something to do with the unusual Zheng Mo.
Captain Zheng took another look around, strode over to the window, and pulled open the heavy curtains with one hand.
A person lunged out from the curtains.
It was Zheng Mo.
Fortunately, she was still wearing a muzzle and gloves.
It was probably because there was a big mess outside, and no one had had time to come up and pull out her teeth and nails.
Captain Zheng's face completely changed. He grabbed her and called out, "Little Mo."
Zheng Mo screamed. It was as if she had gone crazy from fear.
She was different. After turning into a zombie, she would still be scared and hide behind the curtains to avoid people.
Captain Zheng wasn't afraid that she was a zombie. He held her in his arms and patted her back. "Little Mo, don't be afraid. Big Brother is here."
She really was his younger sister.
Under his comfort, Zheng Mo quieted down. She didn't utter a sound and only stared at her brother with wide eyes.
Although Zheng Mo was infected with the virus, she retained a little bit of sanity and didn't have an uncontrollable compulsion to bite humans.
The door of the private room suddenly opened, and several security guards rushed in with guns. They yelled, "Hands up!"
Lu Xingchi didn't raise his hands. He just glanced back at them, and the guns in the hands of the security guards immediately opened fire automatically at the owners. The guards fell down.
Lu Xingchi said to Captain Zheng, "Take your sister and go first. I'll watch your back."
Bei Nuan glanced at Lu Xingchi; he probably helped them without hesitation because he sympathized with their plight.
Captain Zheng didn't expect that Lu Xinchi would remain calm and even offered to help him.
Captain Zheng had slaughtered people in Taipingmen and was in a lot of trouble. He was facing a dead end. At a time like this, they were willing to lend him a helping hand. Not only did they help him find his sister, they were also willing to help him kill his way out of here.
Captain Zheng's cold eyes gained a bit of warmth.
He thought for a moment and said, "No, you're much better than me. I'll stay in the back. You guys rush out. There's a vehicle at the back door, and I've already greeted the base guards, so you can drive that vehicle out of the base's gate."
He let go of his sister, replaced the magazine in the gun in his hand, and took out another gun.
"If I die, please help me take my sister out. I'd rather you kill her than leave her here."
He looked ready to die for his goal.
The door of the private room opened again, but it wasn't security guards or soldiers.
It was Huo Ren.
Huo Ren casually carried a gun with a face up to no good. As soon as he entered, he twirled his gun and greeted Bei Nuan.
"Hello again."
He smiled. "Last time, the vehicle you were in didn't catch up to mine. I thought you died in Refuge #9. I didn't expect you to be so lucky."
After a pause, he continued, "And then, you pretended to be a saint and sashayed in front of me. Do you really think I'm blind?"
Bei Nuan: "..."
So in the tribe, even with the veil and heavy makeup, he still recognized her?
His eyes were too good.
Huo Ren asked with interest, "How did you escape from my bombs? By relying on him?"
