Title: A Fake Holy Mother in the Zombie Apocalypse
Translator: Little Bamboo Spirit
Chapter 29 - Boyfriend (2)
Holding the crossbow, Lu Xingchi opened the door.
Bei Nuan remembered the story arc of this small restaurant. In the original novel, Lu Xingchi and the others had also encountered the collapsed bridge and blocked road. They had immediately gotten out of the car and walked along the road, and then they met zombies.
The novel's Lu Xingchi's combat power was significantly inferior to the current Lu Xingchi. After fighting and retreating, he finally dealt with the zombies in a spurt of energy and entered the restaurant to rest for a bit. He had exerted himself too much to deal with the zombies.
The current Lu Xingchi was so strong. He didn't need to take a break. He could easily continue down the road and kill his way through any zombies. Plus, Bei Nuan had a pocket space and could take the jeep out now that they passed the blocked part of the road.
And yet, he entered the restaurant just like in the original plot.
Bei Nuan didn't know what the big boss was thinking. Anyways, she would just follow him.
There were already a lot of people inside: men and women, old and young.
At a time like this, there was no one coming here to eat. These people had also encountered the blocked road when they left the city. When they passed by this restaurant, they had come inside to hide from the zombies. Everyone inside the restaurant was gripped in panic.
After Lu Xingchi entered the restaurant, his first action was to ask, "Where's the boss?"
Everyone looked at each other. No one knew where the owner of the restaurant was.
Lu Xingchi ordered people to continue keeping the door closed and headed towards the back of the restaurant himself.
He had cleared all of the zombies outside with only a crossbow and had the aura of a big boss. The men that had blocked the door were in the prime of their life. They listened to his order and obediently went back to guarding the door.
Shortly after, Lu Xingchi carried a fat middle-aged man out of the kitchen. It really was carrying. The man's legs were too weak, and he couldn't even stand up without help.
"The key for the metal shutter door." Lu Xingchi put the man down and stretched out his hand.
The owner's lips trembled a lot, and his gaze was slack. It took him a long time to understand Lu Xingchi's words. He fumbled through his pockets for a while before finally finding the key.
Lu Xingchi took the key from him, pulled down the metal shutter door, and locked it.
They didn't need to block the door anymore. With the protection of the metal shutter door, the restaurant immediately felt a lot safer.
Everyone sighed in relief.
Bei Nuan thought; your ease will only last a few minutes.
The restaurant's only advantage was the plentiful seating. Du Ruo found an empty seat and sat down. He prodded Bei Nuan, their head of logistics. "I'm hungry." His eyes were expressive, like a puppy that hadn't been fed in a while.
Bei Nuan took out a bag of chips from her pocket space and stuffed it in his hand.
"Sweet and spicy flavor? I like it." Holding the bag of chips, Du Ruo was perfectly content.
Before he could open his bag of chips, there was a frenzy banging on the metal shutter door. It felt as if the restaurant was shaking.
This wasn't from zombies.
Someone outside shouted in a hoarse voice, "Open! Help! People inside, open the door!"
Bei Nuan inwardly whistled.
The boyfriend was here.
She could earn Holy Mother value by the way. It couldn't be more awesome.
Bei Nuan happily tugged at Lu Xingchi. "There are people outside. Let's open the door for them?"
Laugher sounded in her head. The green line for the Holy Mother value cheerfully wiggled forward.
Lu Xingchi calmly glanced at her.
Bei Nuan immediately declared, "I remember the first rule. I have to listen to you about everything. Open if you want to. If you don't want to, I'll drop it."
It was only then that Lu Xingchi stood up and went towards the door to open it. Right after he inserted the key, someone stopped him.
The men that had been previously guarding the door came over and nudged Lu Xingchi away from the door.
They were shorter than Lu Xingchi and weaker than him. Thus, their tone was still very polite.
"Don't open the door. Who knows what monsters are outside."
"Let's not open the door, okay? What if the zombies also come in when the door is open?"
They had only listened to Lu Xingchi earlier because he had a crossbow, could kill zombies, and help everyone defend the restaurant.
Now the metal shutter door was locked, and the restaurant was much safer, Lu Xingchi's authority had plummeted. It had fallen faster than someone jumping off a building.
